At one point, a co-op partner joins the mission, and the two battle together to complete the story.īulletstorm devs are making a Destiny-style shooter, and it’s pretty goodĭuring this gameplay session, we see characters pick up crafting materials and make dialogue choices. The Pyromancer uses three weapons and three abilities to literally burn through a small army of mutated creatures. A Pyromancer, one of the game’s four classes, takes on a story mission called “Salvation.” The mission takes place in The First City (seemingly a shot across the bow at The Last City in Destiny) which used the engine from a giant spaceship for power - before the engine went nuclear, and mutated the land nearby. This month’s video starts by focusing heavily on Outriders’ gameplay and story. Outriders gameplay A Pyromancer slinging fire Image: People Can Fly/Square Enix Here’s everything you need to know from the livestream. In May’s developer video, People Can Fly revealed the game’s loot and difficulty systems, and detailed the Trickster class. On Thursday, the studio dropped a 30-minute deep dive into the game’s systems - the first in a monthly series of information dumps. For general impressions of Outriders, give this a look.Outriders is a new third-person shooter from People Can Fly, the studio that brought you Bulletstorm. If you want to get some impressions about the other two classes, check out our articles about the Devastator and the Pyromancer. Outriders is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X this winter. If you're a player who loves to manipulate a battlefield and set up devastating combos, you can't go wrong with the Trickster. I can only imagine the fireworks People Can Fly has in store for us. And we've only seen a small sample of his toolset. His ability to flip a combat arena on its head is exhilarating and comboing his slowdown with your co-op partners is so satisfying. The Trickster is a potent force of destruction in Outriders. This is an excellent way to set up a killing field for you and your enemies, especially if you combo it with Slow Trap. You also gain a shield for a few seconds to keep you safe deep in enemy territory. "Hunt The Prey" lets you teleport behind any enemy within range and slow them down for a few seconds. The last skill I was able to play around with definitely the most game-changing. Slow Trap also combos well with several of the other two characters' skills. It's both an effective escape technique and a great way to thin a combat arena in short order. Everything inside that bubble (including your opponent's bullets) is slowed to crawl. The Trickster's second ability "Slow Trap" pops up a bubble around your character. If this was the first ability I was getting, I could only imagine what would come next. The first time it happened, my jaw hit the floor. Your follow-up attack makes their body explode in a brutal display of blood and guts. His first skill is "Temporal Slicing", which is a slash attack that basically liquefies his opponent's skin and lets you see their skeleton. The Trickster's suite of abilities kicks off with a bang. That said, just those first three skills were enough to get a solid handle on each class. In the lengthy demo, we were only able to see the first three of each classes' eight distinct skills. The Trickster has near-complete control over the battlefield with a host of time-altering abilities that demolish everything in his path. That isn't to say the class feels basic, far from it actually. Of the three, the Trickster felt the most like a traditional damage-dealer. At their preview event, Square Enix and People Can Fly gave us a chance to gets hands-on with three of the four characters classes for their upcoming shooter RPG Outriders.

And finally, the bbq duck fried rice, it was a hearty portion but it was shredded duck, I expected bigger pieces of duck. The sweet and spicy were good, nice sized but didn't seem much different from sweet and sour shrimp. We had the Brussel Sprouts but there were unwhelming, the five ribs were about 6 slices of a rib, tasty sauce and a few pieces were tender and delicious. That's kinda expected for Downtown Chicago! The food wasn't bad, in the excitement of knowing we were going out, there won't be any foods pics because we were hungry! We were a group of 9 and we all ordered a variety of things. The food is pretty much al la carte, so expexct things to be on the higher end. From the door to the host to the bar to the waiter, everyone had good energy and was friendly and helpful. Which isn't a bad thing, it's very cool how the lighting is tons of soft light, good music and open spaces and definitely has several great visuals around the restaurant. Now to the atmosphere, you really feel like you are walking into a temple or a bad guy bar in a movie. There is some on street parking but you pay for that as well. First thing to note is that there is valet parking but I used a parking app and had a 3 minute walk and saved money. Avoid this place.Ĭelebrated a friend's birthday here and the ambiance is amazing. I went back in to see if I could get cash on my credit card and the reception staff told me to go to an ATM at the drugstore around the corner. The valet cost $25 and they only except cash. At the end of the evening, we went out to pick up our car that had been valet parked. After dessert, the waitress tried to sell us membership cards and an app to eat at the restaurant again or in other places around the country. The bill was 800.00 for 6 people with only a few cocktails. The mochi dessert should be called “mushy” as it was a flavorless slimy mess. It was like something you’d be served on a bad night at red lobster. The description our server gave of the fish and the one on the menu bore no resemblance to the plate that came to the table. They served us an Indescribably creepy deep fried fish. Some of the appetizers were reasonably tasty other quite expensive. This is some of the worst food I’ve been served. The waitress had no knowledge of what was available behind the bar. The drink choices were limited and expensive. Our waitress did a number of disappearing acts and only showed up briefly to recommend the most expensive items on the menu. There are weird stadium seats above the tables that seem to be for spectators having drinks and watching you eat. This used to be a dance club and it has that feeling. The place is incredibly cold, dark and loud. There were many unoccupied tables, but they insisted that this was their policy. We were waiting for one person and could have started ordering. The reception was rude and they refused to seat us until every member of the party was present in front of them. A friend booked this and we were told that this was a difficult difficult reservation to get and it would be a special restaurant. I really cannot think of a worse dining experience. That is not true for SQL keywords, function names, or column and index names, all of which may be referred to in varying lettercase style throughout a query. Regardless of whether a database or table name is case sensitive on your system, you must refer to it using the same lettercase throughout a given query. For more information, see Section 11.2.6, “Operating System Constraints on Database Object Names.” To force creation of databases and tables with lowercase names even if not specified that way in CREATE statements, configure the server by setting the lower_case_table_names system variable. I recommend lowercase, particularly if you are using InnoDB tables, because InnoDB stores database and table names internally in lowercase. Then case of names won’t be a problem if you move a database to a different server. To avoid having case sensitivity become an issue, pick a given lettercase and always create databases and tables using names in that lettercase. You would also have trouble replicating the tables from a Unix master server to a Windows slave server. You would have problems moving the tables to a Windows machine: abc and ABC are not distinguishable because names are not case sensitive. Suppose that you create two tables named abc and ABC on a Unix server where those names are considered distinct. You should consider lettercase issues when you create databases and tables on a machine with case sensitive filenames if you might someday move them to a machine where filenames are not case sensitive. For further information, see Section 3.1.2, “String Values.” This is true for literal strings and the contents of string columns. Case sensitivity of a string value depends on whether it is a binary or nonbinary string, and, for a nonbinary string, on the collation of its character set. If the lower_case_table_names system variable is nonzero, table aliases are not case sensitive. You can specify an alias in any lettercase (upper, lower, or mixed), but if you use it multiple times in a statement, you must use the same lettercase each time. By default, table aliases are case sensitive. The following statements are equivalent: SELECT name FROM student Īlias names. Column and index names are not case sensitive in MySQL. Trigger names are case sensitive, which differs from standard SQL.Ĭolumn and index names. Stored function and procedure names and event names are not case sensitive. MySQL represents each view using a file, so the preceding remarks about tables also apply to views. An exception is that names in Mac OS X Extended filesystems can be case insensitive. Servers running on Unix usually treat database and table names as case sensitive because Unix filenames are case sensitive. Windows filenames are not case sensitive, so a MySQL server running on Windows does not treat database and table names as case sensitive. As a result, the default case sensitivity of database and table names depends on how the operating system on that host treats filenames. MySQL represents databases and tables using directories and files in the underlying filesystem on the server host. The following statements are equivalent: SELECT NOW() ĭatabase, table, and view names. Keywords and function names are not case sensitive. Case Sensitivity in SQL StatementsĬase sensitivity rules in SQL statements vary for different statement elements, and also depend on what you are referring to and the operating system of the machine on which the server is running. The reason that Netflix remains so successful and popular to this day is that there really is something for everyone. Luckily you have us to sift through their extensive library and find the very best of the best. The only problem is that it’s tough to keep up with what’s being added to the service every month. Yes, Netflix still has plenty of streaming movies (both original and acquired) that rival the ones that you can catch in theaters. But really, all you need is the one that started it all: Netflix. However, the high production quality cannot be denied and the comedic aspects are easy to appreciate. With so many streaming services out there (and more popping up by the day), it can be hard to know which one you can turn to in your time of streaming need. With heavy themes of gender roles, social expectations and just how dangerous (or liberating) technology can really be, the moral conclusions of this movie are up for debate. Pick up the remote and try this memorable rom-com. The film featured mostly traditional Indian sounds complimented by techno-beats whenever the momentum picked up. I appreciated the combination of more traditional shots, like the warm scenes of the couple sitting side-by-side on the beach, with the contemporary scenes of face timing, conference calls and scrolling through apps. A lot of effort was taken to build up to the main story, even with a modest budget. Nothing can truly grow, whether a seed or love, unless you leave it alone and trust that it will sprout. There was good visual storytelling, like the scene of the boy (later revealed to be Pradeep) planting a mango seed. This is clear from the opening scene which shows each step of a smartphone being manufactured from with beautiful clarity. The special effects in this film are impeccable. The film holds women to the same impossible standards as hundreds of years ago. On the other hand, most of Pradeep’s questionable behaviour was swept aside. Her reputation only survived once the accusation was proved to be false. The moment that this sexual “purity” came into question, her community cast her to the dogs. Personally, I did not appreciate the focus on Nikitha’s purity. I applaud the moving subplot and stellar acting from the entire cast. No one was exactly whom they seemed to be. The characters were all multi-dimensional and it was enjoyable to peel back each layer as the film progressed. Then, an unexpected third party throws a wrench into the already collapsing structure. Their seemingly perfect relationship begins to fall apart at the seams as both their secrets come to light. The old man shocks them with a strange condition he will allow them to marry only if they exchange phones for a day. Pradeep has to formally introduce himself to Nikitha’s father as a suitor for marriage. Unfortunately, her father still finds out. Due to the social stigma around dating, Nikitha lies to her strict father about where she got the phone. He waxes poetic about how close they are and how they know everything about each other. Pradeep is a young man who spends his savings to buy his girlfriend, Nikitha, a new smartphone. He digs it up to check on it multiple times and is frutrated that it won’t sprout. The film begins with a young boy planting a mango seed. Now, this is one of the very few times when I can say this I have never seen this story told before. Contemporary film is littered with remakes and retellings of old stories. There’s an old saying nothing is new under the sun. Mild spoilers ahead The Story and Characters The film was a box office success and received critical acclaim in India, but we at Big Picture Film Club think it deserves a little more love internationally. Love Today brings us back down to earth with an unlikely but entirely plausible modern love story of courtship in the smartphone era. When you hear the words “Indian love story” you might think of stereotypical over-the-top soap opera-style Bollywood movies. Our first pick is Love Today (2022), a quirky Indian romantic comedy. If you previously purchased a license to OmniFocus for Mac, you are eligible for a 50% discount for the same edition (Standard or Pro) of OmniFocus 3 for Mac as long as it’s from the same store (Mac App Store or Omni Group Web site). The Omni Group continues to price the Standard edition of OmniFocus at $39.99 and the Pro edition at $79.99, with an upgrade from Standard to Pro priced at $39.99. The update also hides declined calendar events and past events in the Forecast view, resolves problems with the Columns layout and narrow windows, fixes a bug where copying a parent task with child tasks selected would result in duplicate child tasks, eliminates crashes, and adds several localizations. The Omni Group has now released OmniFocus 3.1, updating it so its interface matches macOS 10.14 Mojave’s Dark mode setting automatically, while also adding a preference option for a light sidebar appearance. OmniFocus Pro also brings custom perspectives, with simple yet powerful filtering rules that enable you to combine rules with all, any, and none. The Pro edition of OmniFocus offers the capability for adding a specific tag to display in Today’s Forecast, which is great for highlighting daily rituals or important items that don’t have explicit dates. It also provides more options for repeating tasks, improves the Forecast view with calendar events interleaved with your actions, and adds common actions to the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar. In addition to updating the toolbar, sidebar, outline, and inspector to a more modern look, OmniFocus 3 replaces contexts with tags, enabling you to organize tasks and assign multiple tags to any item. Several weeks ago, the Omni Group released version 3.0 of its OmniFocus task management app for the Mac (and iOS), a major update that added new features. #1668: Updated Rapid Security Responses, OS public betas, screen saver bug fixed, “Red Team Blues” book review.#1669: OS security updates, ambiguity of emoji, small business payments with Melio, Twitter now X.#1670: Arc Web browser hits 1.0 release, “Do You Use It?” polls about Apple features.#1671: Apple Q3 2023 earnings, new Beats headphones and earbuds, Stage Manager adoption rate, do you use Spotlight?.1672: The hidden power of Google Sheets, Launchpad usage levels, Emergency SOS via satellite in the Maui fires, do you use proxy icons?.Previously, hiding the sidebar meant hiding the perspectives as well. Speaking of additional panels, the sidebar can now be shown and hidden independently of the perspectives panel. This will happen automatically if you open up additional panels (e.g., the sidebar and the inspector) and OmniFocus needs some extra screen space. You can tap a button to reduce favourite perspectives to a vertical toolbar that shows only the icons, minimizing the amount of space they take up on your screen. And your favourite OmniFocus 4 perspectives are always a tap away on the iPad. You can easily customize the list of perspectives to include your favourites, and hide those that you use less frequently. One of the first things you’ll notice when you open OmniFocus 4 on the iPad is the completely redesigned sidebar. It’s important to note that OmniFocus 4 is a work in progress and that details of the user interface and functionality are subject to change as OmniFocus continues to evolve. Below are some of my favourite new and enhanced features. In addition to sporting a new, modern design, OmniFocus 4 brings features to the iPhone and iPad that were previously only available in OmniFocus for Mac. This future is built on modern Apple technologies that will help ensure a consistent user experience across all of the platforms that Omni supports. Now that the embargo has been lifted, I’m excited to share a taste of OmniFocus’ exciting future. I’ve had the good fortune of being one of the first people outside of Omni to put OmniFocus 4 for iPhone and iPad through its paces. Check out Omni’s blog post to learn more and to find out how you can provide feedback and help with the testing. This major update is currently in development and slated for release later this year.
